[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] OVERALL | During the apocalypse, creatures once unbeknown to the Human race began to appear. After the destruction of several large chemical plants, Mutations made their debut. Hot on their heels arrived the Parasites, who used the mutated humans to sort of ease their presence into the remainder of the world. Heartbreakers, the close cousins to the parasites followed, trying to reign in their rogue kin. After that, it was a free for all; the Demons, Fey and Wereanimals simply burst from the woodwork. The rarest of all the races came at the very end of the extensive parade; the Fallen Angels. They sought to smooth over the new world wrought for the humans.
Don't let your mortal stories and fairytales deceive you, though. Vampires do not sparkle, and werewolves don't turn furry just on the full moon. No, it's all much darker than the things you humans have grown to believe. |
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] HUMANS | Generally weak and resemble yourself. Duh.
Humans can have special powers like telekinesis and all that, but it's a lot less likely than our other little creatures.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] VAMPYRES | A generalization is that all vampyres are pale. This is true, as they most likely haven't gotten a tan recently. Vampyres, whether heartbreaker or parasite, burn from the inside-out in sunlight. It is a long and painful process for the victim, though in reality it takes only a minute or two for them to be reduced to a pile of charred bone and ash.
Like wereanimals, vampyres are allergic to silver. They are not scalded by holy water nor fearful of garlic or crosses.
HEARTBREAKERS;; In those paranormal romance books your mother reads, vampyres are generally handsome and seductive men and beautiful, exotic women. Heartbreakers are the vampyres who fit this description, and are often inhumanly lovely. They have an endless supply of lovers and blood donors, but unlike their roguish cousins, they feed in moderation. They have long, delicate fangs on either their canines, incisors, or sometimes both.
Heartbreakers have the potential to be skilled in mostly everything; without the limitations of the human mind, they can absorb and remember more, and the abilities their mortality once restricted are released. For some heartbreakers this means extreme psychic abilities, others control over the elements. A standard is the ability to roll the mind of a victim, and yet another is the ability to heal minor wounds with their saliva. They developed this over the millenia to cover their tracks.
This more sophisticated variety of vampyre is known for the constant battles that break out among its ranks. These fights, however, are most likely not physical, and instead about power games and politics. Heartbreakers are renowned for plucking at each other for weaknesses and exploiting them to their advantage. Be it for territory, servants, even occasional mating rights- yes, the males are fertile- there are constant metaphysical battles raging in the inner ranks.
PLAYABLE? Y
PARASITES;; Quite contrary to their lovely cousins, Parasites are ugly creatures. Instead of simply pale skin, their skin takes on a sickly tint and dark circles shadow their sunken eyes. They look like what you would imagine a starved man who hasn't eaten in a month would look like, except with a mouth full of sharp teeth and long, lanky arms and legs and claw-like hands (if you've seen Legion, they look a lot like the ice cream man in the ugly polyester uniform that goes all freaky and possessed and all that jazz).
Parasites are not only fugly, but they're dangerous. Though not as intelligent as your average human, they're smarter than mutants and it's uncommon to see them traveling in groups less than three. They often fight and eat one another if they can't find humans to feed on and this usually results in torn up limbs and flesh.
The one thing that puts you at an advantage is that you will always know when they're coming; they emit hyena-like cackles that will, quite frankly, scare the shit out of you. Either you'll be smart and find a nice hidey-hole or flee, or you'll be stupid, freeze in fear and get your ass eaten. Parasites will only attack humans. They fear demons, Heartbreakers and the Fallen, and something in wereanimals' DNA poisons them when consumed.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] WEREANIMALS | Wereanimals do go furry on a full moon, but not necessarily into wolves. There are several varieties of were-, not all of them living in packs or prides. Wereanimals have two forms; animal and beast. Beast is the half man, half animal deal, but it's usually more animal than human. No wolfman. A werewolf who's in beast form has a wolf's head and snout, stands upright and the claws are funky. Animal form is just that; animal. A wereleopard turns into a horse-sized leopard roughly five feet tall at the shoulder, tigers and lions turn into tigers and lions that are about eight feel tall at the shoulder. The sizes are proportional, just bigger than normal. Allergic to poison and vampire blood. Wolfsbane is a plant all wereanimals seem to have an aversion to, not just werewolves. WOLVES Alpha: Alpha's mate: Beta: Delta:
The wolves are very formal and strict when it comes to behavior. They fight to get to higher ranks, and if someone is disrespectful of a more dominant wolf it is in the dominant's rights to either take it as a challenge or punish the submissive for their insolence. LEOPARDS Nimir-Raj: Nimir-Ra:
Much less formal than the wolves, leopard prides are led by a male and female. They often have other abilities, like being able to absorb their leopards' injuries unto themselves and force the other leopards to shift forms. TIGERS Queen:
Run by a female, usually only breeding within their species. It is frowned upon to bring in outsiders unless they're accepted by the Queen. Little queens are other dominant females that are blossoming into maturity and looking for mates; the Queen keeps close watch on them to make sure they don't grow powerful enough to overthrow her. LIONS Rex: Regina:
Run by both a male and female that are not necessarily a mated pair, just the two most dominant lions in the pride. BEARS COBRAS HYENASThere usually isn't a high enough population of these guys to form groups, or they just prefer being on their own. Either way, you don't often find them in large numbers, at most two or three. PLAYABLE? Y (Yes, many of these ideas were taken from the Anita Blake series written by Laurell K. Hamilton. Look it up, it's freaking amazing.) |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] ANGELS | All angels have a pair of wings, and those wings are not necessarily black or white. Every angel has a pair of wings reflecting themselves, be it by personality, hair color, eye color- et cetera. They are born with these wings and from an early age, they can use them to fly effortlessly. Angel children are rarely heard of because of how rare they are to concieve, but because of their immortality it often takes them more time to fully mature. Angels are very protective of the young, and even if two angels hate one another, they will work together if it means saving or helping a child. Nobody is quite certain about the god Christianity believes in, but from the Fallen, rumor has spread that there is no god and that heaven is ruled by angels, as is hell. All angels are said to be beautiful or handsome. ANGELS
These are the regular angels that reside in heaven. They remain saintly and beings of purity, at least in their own boundaries, and are said to love humanity and have control over light and all that jazz. They, however, having not been exposed to pain or suffering of any sort, tend to be ignorant and naive. They love observing humans from the clouds and tend to be very apathetic. Tastes of emotions from Earth are treats to them. Many of them are also shamans and healers, and there are certain branches that include the council, who enforces to laws, and the guardian angels, to are sent down to protect important humans. PLAYABLE? N THE FALLEN
The Fallen are angels that have gone against the laws of angels and have fallen from grace. They walk among humans on Earth or lurk in hell with the demons and Lucifer, the archangel who rules over it all. That doesn't mean they're evil, however. It is true that some may have misguided hearts, but they may have been ejected from heaven because they did something they thought was right but still went against the council. All in all, however, fallen angels are few and far between, and it's very uncommon to come across one, or at least know if you did. They try to cloak their presences and blend with humans, as it's just an easier lifestyle. PLAYABLE? Prohibited. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] DEMONS | Most demons are servants to Lucifer, the fallen archangel who rules over hell. Holy water is like acid to them, as are any holy items that are believed in; meaning, you can carry around a cross or something, but if you don't have faith in it, it isn't going to help you. Demons can make their saliva acidic if they want to, and their blood is corrosive. DEMONS
Regular demons usually have red or charcoal grey skin, horns, bat wings, tails with various different tips- spaded, forked, arrow-tipped- and tough black fingernails that can be extended into claws. Their eyes range in shades of black, white and grey to yellow, gold, orange, red and burgundy. The rare demon might also have blue eyes. PLAYABLE? Y DEVILS
Devils aren't a species that comes in one shape. The point is, they have sharp teeth and reek of festering wounds and corpses that have sat out in the sun for too long. They don't care what you are; they'll attack you and try to eat you. They're demons that have been corrupted in some form or the other, or diseased for long periods of time. PLAYABLE? N |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] FEY | No, the Fey aren't tiny winged humans. They're full-sized and armed with inhuman speed and strength, along with endurance and agility. The entire race is known for its control over five elements; spirit, wind, water, fire and earth. However, only very few Fey have power over all of them. Usually, it's one to four, but never five. The Fey king and his direct descendents(children) are usually the only ones. The moral code of the Fey leaves no room for dishonesty. Most Fey are completely unable to tell a lie, but there are exceptions... despite this, they are very capable of trickery. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] MUTATIONS | Mutations are just that; mutations. They're humans afflicted by the radioactive wastelands caused by destroyed chemical plants. They're basically humans with extra limbs and missing limbs and disabilities but the driven mentalities of both zombies and parasites combined. They have the will to live and all that jazz, but they crave flesh. Plain and simple.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] ZOMBIES | Zombies are the reanimated dead. They can't sprint, but they can shamble pretty quickly if they have a goal in mind. By goal, I mean victim. The only way to kill a zombie is direct damage to the brain- a knife or bullet to the head, or decapitation all work. Stabbing it in the heart, however, isn't going to get you very far.
They continue to decay even though they still walk, and in theory they'll drop dead (again) once their brain deteriorates enough. This could be a long time coming, though, so don't hold your breath if you find your encampment under siege. Zombies have poor eyesight at best, and rely mostly on an enhanced sense of smell.
If someone is bitten, they may not necessarily turn immediately into a zombie. The virus might remain dormant in the victim's blood, or it could result in fever, hallucinations and violent/homicidal/cannibalistic thoughts. It might even get flushed out of the victim's system after a while, but it hasn't been long enough since the virus was introduced to tell how long it can last.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 300px; background-color: #6d7e6c;][cs=2] dragonkin | Dragnkin are all creatures descended from and including dragons. There are two types of dragonkin; there are the ancestors, who are dragons and are powerful enough to take on a humanoid form when they are in the presence of others, and there are the descendents, who are more mutated than actual dragons. ANCESTORS
Ancestors belong to one of the six groupings on dragonkin, which will be introduced and explored at a later time. Currently they keep to themselves, and live as humans, then as dragons. They are quite passive in nature, and protective of their race. PLAYABLE? Prohibited. DESCENDENTS
Descendents do not take on the form of dragon or human. They are stuck inbetween the two. They usually do walk on two legs, but have wings, reptilian skin, perhaps elongated tongues and/or pointed ears. They take on the color of their ancestors kin. Unlike their predecessors they are not passive, but more aggressive and bloodthirsty. They are rarely allowed near the sanctuary unless they behave according to the laws. PLAYABLE? Y |
