PERSONALITY:Karis is a rather contemptuous individual whose main goals in life are to grow in popularity and live in the lap of luxury. She's selfish and, for the most part, doesn't worry about anyone but herself. She hates being wrong or not being able to answer a question, and hate it even more when someone else can. She wants to know everything, and while this applies to everything, she has a special interest for gossip and rumors. Karis is very good with remembering things, and she won't need to ask someone their name twice to be able to call them by it again later.
Power is another primary motivator for the Queen of the Damned. She's right up there with the Heartbreakers when it comes to power games, and if she sees an opportunity that will benefit her in the long run, she won't hesitate to take it. That doesn't mean she's always right about it, though; it isn't uncommon for her exploits to gain power and fame to flop. However, over the years, she's learned to pick up after her messes and regain at least some of her lost dignity each time her attempts to empower herself fail.
This leads to another trait that Karis possesses; pride. She's very arrogant and self-absorbed, and loves to gloat over her successes no matter how few and far between they are. She often exaggerates stories of her accomplishments, and while sometimes, this does give people more respect for her, others leave her with an exasperated audience. When compliments are given, she accepts them graciously, but will always have to force that smug grin back down and offer instead a smile of feigned humbleness.
Karis has two types of anger to her; there's the cold anger where she grows calculative and mockingly sweet, and then there's the burning rage that consumes her and urges her to yell and scream her fury to the sky (and often, throw things). Nobody wants to be on the receiving end of either one. Karis is quick to anger and quicker to grow irritated. When something troubles her, it isn't uncommon to see her chewing on her lower lip or pacing.
Despite her shortcomings, Karis has a wry sense of humor that's easy for most to appreciate. She isn't shy about making jokes in public, and loves making people laugh despite being utterly self-centered. However, she doesn't appreciate being taunted or mocked, and will promptly confront whoever she suspects of talking behind her back and issue a challenge. In this, she is overconfident in her abilities and will pick fights even when the odds are against her. She's determined and won't surrender; she'll stand and fight until the opponent gives in, stops breathing or is too maimed to be worth her time anymore. That, or she'll fight until she can't fight any more. Even if she's broken and on the ground, she won't back off. Her opponent will have to either knock her unconscious or kill her dead.
There is no particular religion that Karis follows, though she has beliefs. She doesn't care whether she expresses them or not, however, and generally tolerates other religions unless some zealot tries forcing their morals on her. She'll be outright rude in this case, and if she thinks someone's beliefs are stupid and they're ranting about them, she'll express herself and won't hesitate to belittle them in front of an audience.

ARTILLERY:BONESWORD;; Karis can draw a claymore sword from her spine using her skelekinesis. the cross-guards are ribs, the rain guard is a double-sided skull, one side grinning and the other scowling, the grip is made of vertebrae and the pommel is a giant ruby set in more bone. when pulling the sword from her back, she takes a ruby pendant and presses the gem to the base of her skull, leaning her head forward. there will be a flash of red and she'll have yanked a giant two-handed sword almost as tall as she is from her spine.
IVORY DAGGERS;; it's a simple matter to produce two daggers made of bone from her arm bones and have them pop out of her palms if she can draw a freaking claymore from her back.
BONE-BOW;; when Karis needs to go long-range and doesn't have her twin handguns with her, she runs a hand sensually up her leg- not just to be sexy, the bones sense it and ready themselves- and when she gets to her hip, she'll lean to the side and yank out a longbow. she always carries a bowstring with her though, since she can't make one of those. when she needs arrows, they slide out of her palms as easily as her daggers.
THE DOOMSDAY PISTOLS;; Armageddon and Ragnarök are a pair of twin handguns that have special silver ammo. they're infused with poison, and just two bullets can down a range of creatures and animals from elephants and werewolves to fey and small dragons. however, Karis is extremely careful with these as the bullet-making process is slow and difficult.
ABILITIES:SEX;; yes, Karis can use sex as a weapon. she's a succubus, which means sex demon, and sex demons feed off of sex. all she has to do is let herself feed excessively on one person and not only does she get extra energy, but the other person will be dead. from being sexed to death. yeah, it's that awesome.
NECROMANCY;; wondering where she got the nickname "the zombie queen"? look no further. she was born with the ability to raise and control the dead. this applies the zombies, vampires, your dead pet gerbil that you buried in the back yard a year ago- anything that's dead. the zombies she raises can be killed only by fire. not decapitation, not an assful of bullets, but fire. when that's done, you have to scatter the ashes in a running river. that's just a precaution, but better safe than eaten, right?
SKELEKINESIS;; you thought zombies were freaky enough? well, not only can she control the dead and undead, she can also manipulate her own bones. it's just a little scary when you see daggers pop out of her wrists or a giant claymore get pulled out of her freaking spine. yes, she can even manipulate her spine as long as she's careful. you don't want to meet her on Halloween, kids, because that is not a costume.
ARDEUR;; the ardeur is a part of the 'feeding on sex' bit. it's a specific hunger that will spread to whoever else she touches and make them horny as hell. ardeur is French for 'flame'- so, the ability is rightly named. it's a burning desire. only problem with this is that she can't control it unless she raises her necromancy early enough to stamp it down.
SHADOWS;; Karis can control darkness and shadows. she can dissolve into a shadow, turn shadows into weapons, create monsters from shadows, use shadows to smother you in your sleep and bind you with vines formed from shadows. shadows, shadows, shadows. this is part of the reason you should fear her when you're all alone at night or in a dark room.
WIND;; this element is also at the Queen of the Damned's disposal. she can turn into a gust of wind or use the wind to make herself faster. by using the wind, she can direct weather formations. she can vacate an area of air and suffocate everything in said area, of compress it into a blade that she will use to lop off your head.
HISTORY:Incubi and succubi are a species much more primal than humans. In a sense, they are also more practical. There are fewer incubi than their female counterparts, so it isn't uncommon for one male to have several mates. The females are not jealous of one another because it's only common sense that if they want their species' number to remain steady and/or increase, fighting over males isn't the way to go about it.
Mated pairs do not get to know each other before they are bonded. If an incubus meets a succubus, they'll breed and if a tattoo forms on the upper arm of the female, she's permanently bound to the male. He also gets a tattoo, but for each of his mates, he has another 'tally' added.
As soon as the succubus conceives, the incubus takes off to look for other females or check on the ones he has. He stays out of the lives of the very protective mothers until the child turns seven, when they go into gestation again. The age for maturity is fourteen, and at that time, the adolescent is kicked out of the figurative nest.
Because the offspring rarely ever meet their father or siblings, it isn't unusual for incest to occur. However, there is a strand missing in the DNA of succubi and incubi that prevents the bad effects of inbreeding. The only family that the child will ever remember is their mother.
Karis grew up as a normal succubus, for the most part, with a twin sister named Kassandra. They were inseparable.
It wasn't until age twelve that Karis discovered her power to reanimate the dead. She learned it the hard way, after her twin was killed by Parasites. Her mother continued life, as losing younglings was not uncommon, and she needed to stay strong for her remaining daughter, her five-year-old son and her future children. However, Karis was heartbroken.
For days she cried, and refused to eat or sleep. Her mother, unable to do anything, paced like an agitated lioness in a cage. Though she'd moved on from one of her children's deaths, it was against her nature to let any of her offspring to die. One night, however, she was surprised and shocked when little Kassie walked into the run-down house they lived in in old France.
Kassie was bloody and broken, and smelled as dead as she was, but there was a spark of personality in her eyes as she approached her sister who seemed unsure on whether to fling herself at her or scramble into a corner. "Do not weep, dear sister." Kassie said softly, cupping her sibling's face. Her hands were cold and clammy. "Do not fear me. You are strong. You brought me back, but only for a little while. You have grieved enough. Put me back into my grave, Rissie."
With a sob, Karis hugged her sister before tugging her outside by her hand and helping her back into the shallow grave she and her mother had dug for her. She kissed her on both cheeks, and did what she felt was right; she mentally pictured Kassie finally resting and peaceful. It worked, and her twin was absorbed back into the earth she'd come from. Karis stayed vigil for the rest of the night.
After that experience, Karis was different. She was quiet, sarcastic and moody, and didn't like to be bothered. After her fourteenth birthday, she adapted to being by herself and taught herself the ropes. She lost her virginity to a man she killed from feeding on, whose name she never learned.
When she was in her thirties, and many accidental zombie raisings later, she encountered Rose. Rose was a Heartbreaker, but also a necromancer. Rose took Karis under her wing and taught her how to control her powers. However, roughly twenty years later, Rose was killed by two weretigers. Vowing revenge, Karis set off after them.
Her hunt led her to a small pride of the creatures, and in her fury she slaughtered half of them. In the midst of it, she grew tired and fell to her knees, but the two bastards who'd killed her mentor stepped up to her with horrible smirks. "So you're that brat we forgot to get rid of a moon ago, huh? Revenge? Hah, you can't even stand up straight you weak little bitch. Your vampire scum of a companion deserved to die."
That had been the last straw. With a keen of utter rage, she lunged, claws of bone bursting from her finger tips. She shredded her way through the pride, and saved the brothers who'd killed Rose for last. First, she rose their fallen family and had them hold them down. Then, she raped them and drained them of most of their life energy. After that, she took Rose's dagger and carved them up, slapping them whenever they threatened to fall unconscious. And lastly, she had their undead mates slowly stab them in the heart and take their heads.
In her mid 150s, the ardeur made itself known during one of the frequent orgies the succubus went to or arranged herself. All the men and women were completely drained by the time Karis left.
America. America was the new land, the place everyone wanted to go to. Karis saw this as an advantage. If she could get to this America and claim herself a piece of land where no human dared travel yet with her own harem and servants and pets, she would be ahead of the crowd. America was indeed the promise land, because more people would continue to go there. An endless supply of food.
Not wanting a tropical climate or beach-side home, Karis and her troop ended up somewhere in future Illinois somewhat near where Chicago would built. Since then, she has settled and has learned English from tutors she "borrowed" during each century, aware that the language changed each generation with different slang terms and such.
2012? Doomsday, apocalypse? Puh-lease. She could do worse on a bad day. It came to pass by her secluded manor pretty harmlessly, as no Mutation nor Parasite or anything else for that matter was dumb enough to enter her property. However, the few that were made a good lunch for her hellhounds.
Aside from the funky weather, it was just another year. Karis still had a large harem that took turns being food, and since she knows control, she never kills by feeding unless it's on purpose. She has a creepy but effective garden out back for food, plenty of stores in the pantry, and when she runs low on meat, she just sends out a few Heartbreakers whose loyalties are pledged to her and has them bring in whatever they can, including deer, cows, pigs, the occasional human, et cetera, and has her lovely butcher chop them up.
Yeah, she's got a pretty stable life. It isn't her fault if you don't.
